The Travel section of the Local Offer details transport policies for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Policies and Guidance

The external links section of this page lists various documents including local transport policies and guidance from the Department for Education for local authorities on post-16 transport to education and training.

Adults

Access to 'Assisted Transport' is only available if the need has been identified as part of a Community Care Assessment. The promotion of commonly available transport options will be encouraged, such as public transport, walking or mobilising with the use of aids either independently or with a support, people using their own vehicle, utilising transport assistance costs and concessionary travel.

Children

The City of Wolverhampton Council must make a decision about whether the provision of transport for pupils of statutory school age is necessary to facilitate the attendance at a designated school. Transport deemed necessary must be provided free of charge.
