The City of Wolverhampton Council's Library Services are seeking volunteers for the following role:
Role Title
General Library Volunteer
Purpose of The Role
To voluntarily assist within a library
What You Will Be Doing
Placing books and other lendable items in the correct order.
Assisting on ‘self-issue’ machines.
Answering or referring customer queries.
General library tasks as needed.
Skills, Experience and Qualities Needed
You will need to:-
Show enthusiasm for libraries and reading.
Be committed and reliable
Have good communication and customer service skills.
Have good English and Maths ability.
Be able to follow instructions well.
When & Where
Dependant on places available but will be within Wolverhampton.
Support Offered
Induction.
Relevant training.
Reviews.
What You Could Get Out of It
Experience of working in the public sector.
Transferable and C.V enhancing skills
Certificate of volunteering (on completion of agreed hours).
The pleasure of helping others
Other Relevant Information
A volunteer agreement negotiated and signed.
All placements will adhere to the Libraries volunteering and I.T. security policies.
