The law protects your consumer rights when you buy goods or services. An ombudsman is a person who investigates complaints about organisations for free. You can use an ombudsman to resolve a complaint without going to court. Ombudsmen exist to deal with complaints from ordinary citizens and consumers about most public bodies and some services in the private sector. We are experts in dispute resolution; here to sort out complaints about the companies which have joined us.
There are different ombudsmen for different industries. You can use the Ombudsman Association to find the right ombudsman for your complaint. The services provided by ombudsmen are free of charge.
You can also use Ombudsman Services to complain about:
- communications (eg phones and internet)
- energy (eg gas and electricity)
- property (eg estate agents and surveyors)
