Academy for Karate Goju-Ryu (AKG) is a voluntary organisation that was established to uphold excellent quality Martial Arts skills to it’s members. Our classes are aimed at Young People and Adults (5 years upwards).
AKG advocate important values such as courtesy, patience, respect, self-control and integrity and is committed to instil the life skills and character building of a true martial artist. These principles and standards will lead to remarkable improvements in each individual academics, careers and relationships – contributing towards a better community.
AKG believes that people have the right to take ownership of their Health and Safety, encouraging our Karatekas to eat a balanced diet and also on how to defend themselves in a life risking situation. People of every age group have the ability and opportunity to practice Goju-Ryu Karate and aim high on their personal development, either learning traditional karate techniques (Kata, Kumite and Bunkai) or/and also Sports Karate.
We are currently running a SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM in pertnership with the BIG LOTTERY FUND designed to extend opportunities to all, particularly for hard to reach children living in deprived areas of Wolverhampton.
