Phoenix Social Group

The Phoenix Social Group is a mental health self-support group formed in 2010 following the closure of The Brooklands Day Centre. The group is managed by a committee made up of service users and ex-service users.

The aim of the Group is to meet in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.  We are open to all mental health service users and ex-service users.  Optional tea, coffee, juices and biscuits are available at a small cost.

We have a pool table, ball games and newspapers to read, we have a Christmas party, we go to the pantomime and have occasional trips out such as canal boats. Many people join us for a chat and to socialise with friends.

The Group is open to people aged 18+. Professionals can attend the group provided that they are supporting their clients and observe our Staff Protocol.  Referral to the Group is via the Mental Health Empowerment Team who will gather brief information and arrange a visit with the group leader.
