Rogue Traders

Rogue Traders are criminals. They appear to be professional tradespeople, using printed leaflets and well maintained vehicles but these are used to con consumers. Criminal activities can include fraud, charging high prices for poor work or charging for work that is not done or necessary and in the worst cases, commit burglary.

The criminals concerned will often target and seek out members of society who are vulnerable; often sharing this information with other criminals.

Bogus callers and rogue traders are a menace to everybody, but especially to older people. The problems they cause are well known to Trading Standards and the Police.

There are many forms of doorstep crime such as:

  • distraction burglary
  • bogus callers
  • bogus officials
  • high pressure Doorstep selling
  • rogue traders.

Please contact the City of Wolverhampton Council (via City Direct contact number) to report any rogue traders that you have experienced.

If you are having to make a report outside of normal open hours, you can do so using our secure online form.

Online reports cannot be made anonymously as an officer will need to get in touch with you for further details.
