The 'Friends of West Park' was set up in Summer 2012 and is currently evolving into an active group with the aim of preserving and enhancing the Park and its amenities. The activities of the group are wide and varied and we are always looking for new Friends to join us to help keep West Park a special place.
Friends of West Park Wolverhampton, a charity group set up to support and enhance West Park, Wolverhampton one of the best authentic Victorian parks still remaining in England. As well as its historical and heritage importance West Park is also home to a variety of flora, fauna and wildlife and provides a beautifully landscaped green space within a ten minute walk of Wolverhampton city centre. The park also serves as a major venue for a number of outdoor events in the city, as well as providing the local community with a range of organised activities and recreational space.
The Friends of West Park have launched a new club giving people the chance to keep fit while at the same time making sure the Victorian park continues to look spick and span.
The Friends’ Keep it Green Club will be running regular Fit and Active Friday sessions including gardening, weeding and pruning in the Friends' rose garden and litter picking around the park. Weather permitting, we will be meeting every Friday morning at Kingsland Lodge, off Kingsland Road, at 9.45am for light gardening followed by a litter pick and stroll around the park.
