Barnardo's

Barnardo’s is the UK's largest children's charity: we run more than 1000 services in local communities. Our work includes reaching and helping children who have been sexually exploited, young people leaving the care system, children with a parent in prison and families struggling to cope. We find loving adoptive homes and foster placements for children in care.

We helped transform the lives of more than 272,000 of the UK’s children, young people and families. We helped many more by campaigning to change policy and public opinion.

We believe a child’s future should never be defined by their past. We want to transform the lives of millions more vulnerable children in the UK – however difficult the beginning of their story.

What we do - Barnardos deals with the following areas of concern.

  • Fostering and adoption
  • Young carers
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Child poverty
  • Domestic violence

If you or know of anyone who is affected by any of these issues please get in touch with us. If you think a child is in immediate danger, dial 999 or contact your local authority social care department, or the NSPCC.

If you are a child and you need help, call Childline’s 24-hour support service on 0800 11 11For more information about getting help for you or somebody else, please see our Get Help page.
