Pendeford Mill Nature Reserve

Pendeford Mill Nature Reserve is a site of valuable environmental and historical significance. The site covers 24 hectares (59.3 acres) of naturally managed countryside and dates back to the 13th century. It provides a stable and protected habitat for wildlife on the fringe of an urban area.

Due to the sensitive environmental nature of the site, well-behaved dogs on lead are permitted at organised events and public open days only.

As the seasons change you can find a wide range of diverse habitats to explore at the reserve on every visit.

During the summer the woodlands are filled with birdsong and rabbits graze in the meadows. The focal point is the pool where you can watch dragonflies skimming across the surface under the watchful eyes of the kingfisher birds.

During the winter there are regular visits from Long Tailed Tits and Woodpeckers. Large animals such as foxes can also be seen. Guided walks and educational visits are available throughout the year.

Please call to confirm events and bookings for visitors prior to arrival.
