Refugee and Migrant Centre

The Refugee and Migrant Centre (RMC) is an open door for everyone with a very broad remit. The highly qualified and regulated staff support those in vulnerable situations every single day.

At the Refugee and Migrant Centre we offer free impartial advice and guidance on:

  • Citizenship
  • Access to Education
  • Employment Support
  • Family Support
  • Access to Healthcare
  • Housing
  • Immigration (OISC regulated)
  • National Asylum Support Service issues
  • Voluntary Returns and Reintegration Assistance
  • Welfare benefits etc.

We assist mainly asylum seekers, refugees and new migrants, but also people from the more established BAME communities.

RMC staff are able to converse with clients in a number of community languages.

Our service users come from over 120 countries, with the main communities originating from Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia and Eritrea as well as from the new EU member states, mainly from Lithuania, Poland, Latvia and Slovakia.

We provide a tailored service for each individual or family, and all aspects of our service are thoroughly recorded and monitored. If you would like to volunteer with us, we would love to have you on board.
