The Chatty Café is coming to Wolverhampton.
A special launch event for the scheme has been scheduled for:
Date: Thursday 21st November
Time: 12.30pm - 1.45pm
The Bob Jones Community Hub
This event is hosted by the City of Wolverhampton Council and the West Midlands Combined Authority. Both the Mayor of Wolverhampton and the Mayor of the West Midlands will be in attendence to launch the scheme.
The scheme has a very simple idea: venues pay a £10 signup fee and designate a ‘Chatter & Natter’ table where people can sit if they’re happy to talk to each other.
The campaign is a partnership with the Chatty Café scheme, which aims to tackle loneliness by encouraging conversation in coffee shops and other venues, and is recognised all over the world.
Since the campaign began, a record number of 30 venues in Wolverhampton have come on board in the space of a month!
Organisers are hoping to get as many café, businesses, groups, organisations and coffee shops on board with this initiative. In Wolverhampton if 150 venues sign up, all venues will be reimbursed the £10 fee by the City Council.
