An apprenticeship can be a great route to a future career
An apprenticeship combines practical training in a job with study. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced staff and gain new skills. In addition you will also study towards a qualification related to the role you are doing. You will also have the opportunity to earn a wage and get holiday pay.
Apprenticeseships can be used to support people of all ages to develop their skills and build a career in a new occupation. They can be used to support new employees, or existing employees who are moving into a new role.
Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of occupations, and at different levels. Apprenticeships are available in more than 170 industries covering over 1,500 job roles in occupation ranging from engineering and hospitality to construction and legal professionals.
Apprentices are employed so have the same rights as other employees. They must be employed for 30 hours per week to be an apprentice.
