CALM - Campaign Against Living Miserably

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and the cause of 18 deaths every day. Join the campaign to take a stand against suicide.

We are a national charity and our helpline takes calls from across the UK. Open from 5pm-midnight every day of the year, calls are confidential, anonymous and taken by trained and skilled helpline workers who provide support, information and signposting.  We signpost to national agencies unless the caller lives within a CALMzone.

Frontline services:
Anyone can hit crisis point. We run a free and confidential helpline and webchat for anyone who needs to talk about life’s problems.

Communities:
Together we’ll help our parents, siblings, partners, friends and colleagues. We spread our message and facilitate, universities, pubs, clubs and prisons across the country – so that people feel empowered to share their experiences and get the help they need before they reach the point of crisis.

We seek to prevent male suicide by:-

  • Offering support to men in the UK, of any age, who are down or in crisis via our helpline and website.
  • Challenging a culture that prevents men seeking help when they need it.
  • Pushing for changes in policy and practice so that suicide is better prevented via partnerships.

If you need immediate help, please call emergency services on 999 or The Samaritans on 116 123.
