St Michael’s Pre-School is Ofsted registered and has been running successfully in the centre of Tettenhall Village for over 50 years. We accept children from all over the Wolverhampton area. We have the availability to look after up to 20 children per session, from the ages of 2 to 5 years. We offer Terrific For Twos funding, NEF funding for 3 & 4yrs olds and 30 hours funding.
Pre-School is run by a Manager, Deputy/Office Manager, Room Leader and Qualified Key-workers. The Managers & Room leader are NVQ3 qualified or equivalent and all staff hold a DBS, valid paediatric first aid, food hygiene, a Safeguarding children certificate and regularly complete training to keep up with current procedures and practises through early years training.
The aim of our Pre-School is about creating smiles! Ensuring that the children are happy, confident and feel safe & secure. We provide a bright and happy environment for children to learn and develop. We encourage expression of needs, thoughts and feelings through play and encourage independence and confidence while socialising with the other children. All of our planning within Pre-School follows the Guidelines of the EYFS (this is the Statutory Framework for The Early Years Foundation Stage). All of our planned activities include all 3 prime areas of learning: Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. This also covers areas such as – Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world, Expressive Arts and Design.
Pre-School is taught through a multi-sensory, play based approach including messy and physical outdoor play. In order for your child to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials and equipment, clothes should be easily washable and not restrict the child’s movements.
We are self- funding charity and rely on fees and fund raising events, any money raised is used to replace and upgrade equipment.
We work closely with parents and carers, involving them as much as we can. We encourage parental involvement as much as possible.
We can cater for all dietary needs, food allergies, vegan, vegetarian, and religious diets. Experience with Special Needs including - speech and language delay, behaviour , autism and SEN. Packed lunches are required for children staying for all day sessions. We will heat up food. We promote healthy eating.
Come and visit us with a chance to meet the staff and to see the fun things we get up to.
