Cranmer Day Services

At Cranmer Day Services we provide meaningful activities for individuals with profound learning, physical and sensory disabilities. The service was originally set up to meet the needs of individuals who had complex needs that could not be met by other day services in the area.

Cranmer Day Services is unique as it is the only day service in the Wolverhampton area that specialises in working with adults with profound sensory, physical and learning disabilities. We are based close to the city centre which enables us to make use of the many facilities the city has to offer. We also have adapted vehicles which allow us to access many places further afield.

The centre’s philosophy is person-centred, encouraging social, psychological, mental health and physical development by offering stimulating and meaningful activities. We explore as many opportunities as possible, often bulldozing through stereotypes linked to people with profound sensory and physical disabilities. The staff are always willing to try out new ideas; their motto is “where there’s a will there’s a way”.

We recognise the importance of social inclusion and positive community presence, so we explore as many community based opportunities as possible. We support local charity events, and have joined the PCT community walk for health at our local parks. One individual was supported to find a voluntary job at a charity shop and others attend non vocational courses at college.

The centre boasts a large sensory room which is used for physiotherapy, sensory stimulation, position changes and relaxation. Cranmer also has an activity room where creative art, sensory cooking sessions and music take place.
