Here you will find out more information on the Home Library Service.
As well as other Libraries located in the City.

The Home Library & Advice Service caters for a wide range of needs and provides books and materials in standard and large print, plus audio books; we also have a selection of jigsaws. The service delivers to residents right across the city who are unable because of mobility or other issues e.g. caring for someone full-time to access their local libraries themselves. We also offer access to:

Borrowbox, the online E:Library available though Wolverhampton Library Services where books can be borrowed free of charge and downloaded to your tablet or Kindle, and

PressReader, another free-of-charge online service which gives access to over 7000 newspapers, periodicals and magazines from around the world on your electronic device.

If you don't have a tablet or laptop we can now offer a 3 x month free loan for you to try one out as part of the City Council's drive to get residents of all ages on line, and

All our customers have direct access to Citizens Advice generalist support with onward referral to more specialist advice services if required.

When is it on: We deliver books directly to your home on a pre-arranged day once a month. We will arrange that with your agreement when we talk with you about the kind of books you like to read.

Access to Citizens Advice full advice service is available to all our customers simply by talking with your driver or contacting the coordinator. Discussions are confidential, non-judgemental and seek to offer clients an appropriate way forward. They can take place over the phone or face-to-face, whichever suits you best..

Referral Details: The Home Library Service delivers on 24 routes covering the city to those who, for a range of reasons, have difficulty accessing their local or central library services.

We normally require a referral through one of our partner agencies e.g. Age Concern, Wolverhampton Social Prescribing Service, City of Wolverhampton Social Services, local health services, voluntary sector agencies but are also willing to consider care home, family and personal referrals too.
