NACRO's SWITCH (Supporting Women in the Community and Home) programme is a new service for Wolverhampton which works to reduce the number of looked after children in the City.
We do this by supporting vunerable women who are at risk of being seperated from their children, as well as helping those women experiencing grief, loss and anger following seperation.
The programme offers:
- A safe, supportive environment
- Flexible Hours
- Outreach in the community and home
We offer support to women via out befriending service. By building trust, providing a consistent relationship and offering practical and emotional support, we develop meaningful relationships which result in engagegment with other services.
We work closely with social care, courts, sexual health, maternity services and GPs to identify women who aer pregnant and vulnerable to losing their child. Outreach work takes place both in the cimmunity and in the women's home.
SWITCH is for women of all ages for whom, should they get pregnant there could be potential safeguarding issues for the child. We accept referrals from any stakeholder.
