Rape Crisis

Rape Crisis England & Wales (RCEW) is a feminist organisation that supports the work of Rape Crisis Centres across England and Wales. We also raise awareness and understanding of sexual violence and abuse in all its forms. We are the national umbrella body for our network of autonomous member Rape Crisis Centres across England and Wales.

Our member Rape Crisis Centres offer services by women, for women and girls.

Support for men and boys:
While we focus on the needs of women and girls, we fully acknowledge men and boys also experience rape and sexual violence and abuse, and that the impacts on their lives can be similarly devastating and long-lasting.

Over half our member Rape Crisis Centres offer specific services to men and/or boys. There are also other organisations that specialise in supporting male survivors. If a man or boy contacts a Rape Crisis Centre that does not offer direct services to male survivors, he will be treated with empathy and respect, and signposted towards his nearest appropriate services.

Find more information about support for men and boys.

Rape Crisis Centres provide frontline specialist, independent and confidential services for women and girls of all ages who've experienced any form of sexual violence, at any time in their lives. Last year, Centres provided over 650,000 sessions of counselling, advocacy and support

Rape Crisis Centres are women-led and offer a range of services in women-only safe space. Over half our members also provide separate space and services for male sexual violence survivors. Please note that our office is not staffed 24 hours but a member of our team will respond as quickly as possible.
