Wolverhampton Area Gynae Support (WAGS)
Our group meets on the third Tuesday of each month between 2pm-4pm at the Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Lichfield Street, Wolverhampton.
We normally have a speaker on health related topics or topics of general interest but allow plenty of time to talk through any worries or problems. Our gynae oncology nurse attends most meetings. We sometimes meet informally to chat and support each other. If you, or a friend or family member, have been newly diagnosed you will be experiencing all kinds of fears and anxieties and the WAGS group is here to help support you during this difficult time.
Most meetings are not medically based but cover a wide range of subjects suggested and agreed by the members – everything from our attempts at flower arranging, poetry, talks about local history. They are mainly light hearted with the usual amount of fun and laughter that a group of caring supportive women can provide. During the meeting we allow time for members to chat amongst themselves and this gives an opportunity to share experiences and talk through any worries or concerns they may have.
