Wolverhampton Astronomical Society

Wolverhampton Astronomical Society was founded in 1951, the Society has witnessed over a half a century of fantastic achievements in astronomy and space exploration.

The Society is open to anyone with an interest in Astronomy (including complete beginners who are more than welcome) and all tastes and experience levels are catered for.

Experts and experienced members are available to give new members help and guidance in understanding this most interesting scientific subject. From time to time arrangements are made for practical experience with binoculars and telescopes. We arrange an interesting and varied programme of lectures from Professional and experienced Amateur Astronomers, plus Informal Meetings and discussions.

Due to the pandemic, we are in any case currently using YouTube for lectures and Zoom for Q&A. We have an astronomical observatory on a secure site about 7 miles from the centre of Wolverhampton. Full details of such information can be found on our website.

For further information about us, including dates of meetings, venues and membership please do get in touch with us or visit our website. We also have our official Wolverhampton Astronomical Society Facebook page which we regularly keep updated.
