Mary Stevens Hospice

Mary Stevens Hospice has provided free specialist palliative care to all members of the community of the Dudley Borough and surrounding areas including parts of South Staffordshire, Wyre Forest, Hereford & Worcester and Sandwell since 1991.

The hospice offers specialist palliative care for adults aged 17 years onwards who have a non-curative illness such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease, end stage renal or cardiac disease, HIV / AIDS.

The hospice provides specialist care to those who are unlikely to be cured. This care is tailored to each individual patient and their loved ones. Services are offered to adults aged 18 years and over with illnesses such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, advanced renal and cardiac disease, and HIV/AIDS.

At the heart of our work is our dedicated care support for their families and carers. The Hospice offers modern facilities complemented by a warm, friendly and comforting environment. Specialist services are provided at our In-Patient Unit and Day Therapies Clinic.

Patients and their families are fully involved in decisions made about their care, and everyone is treated with honesty and sensitivity at all times. Individual beliefs, faiths and cultures are respected without judgement and staff will support personal choices relevant to life and death issues wherever possible.

The hospice operates an open-door visiting policy – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – and also offers practical, physical, emotional and spiritual support for those faced with serious illness, compromised quality of life, bereavement and grief.

Mary Stevens Hospice care is provided free of charge to all those who need it, although it relies on donations and fundraising from the local community to raise more than 80% of its £2.3 million annual running costs. We rely on volunteers to help us fundraise and provide some essential services; if you would like information about joining our team please contact us.
