The Macular Society is the national charity for anyone affected by central vision loss. The Macular Society has been supporting people with macular conditions like age-related macular degeneration (AMD) for over 25 years. We offer information and support and we fund research to find a cure.
Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with 300 people diagnosed every day. It steals your sight, your confidence, and your ability to do the things you love. There is only one way to Beat Macular Disease for good. We must fund much more research now, until we find a cure, or find treatments that stop it in its tracks.
We have more than 15,000 members and, as the biggest patient group in the sight loss sector, we are the voice of people with macular conditions.
We have a small number of paid staff and over 1,500 volunteers who deliver services and run support groups around the UK. If you would like to volunteer with us, please do get in touch.
