Falls Prevention Service

The Wolverhampton Falls Prevention Service is a multidisciplinary team offering tailored assessment, treatment and advice on how to reduce the risks of falling and to cope better following a fall. Our aim is to enable people to remain as independent and as safe as possible in their own home.

We provide

  • a comprehensive assessment lasting about an hour
  • a group education and exercise programme in a variety of localities throughout Wolverhampton

The service also provides training for health professionals, social workers and volunteers working with older people in the community, and carers working in residential and nursing homes, to develop and maintain basic professional competence in falls assessment and prevention.

There are a number of ways you can reduce your chances of having a fall, including making simple changes at home and doing tailored exercises.

You should discuss any falls you have had with your GP. They can refer you to useful services in your local area.

Please contact the service for further information.
