Wolverhampton City Credit Union

Wolverhampton City Credit Union is the biggest credit union in Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire.

WCCU is a not-for-profit community bank, owned and controlled by its members to provide affordable financial services for people living and working in WV postcode areas of Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire.

Our members’ savings are used to fund loans to members at reasonable rates of interest. Similarly, the interest charged on loans is used to fund a return – called a dividend – on members’ savings. Without shareholders, we can ensure that, first and foremost, our members benefit from our services and the surpluses we make. We are a not-for-profit organisation that promotes savings, financial services and ethical banking.

Formed in 2002, we now have 7,000 members and growing. We have Wolverhampton-based branches at 73 Worcester Street and Reception Desk 12 of the Civic Centre in St Peter’s Square.

Our common bond is that anyone who lives or works within Wolverhampton or South Staffordshire (the WV postcode) is eligible to open an account with us.

We are owned, managed and operated by our members, and this allows the community to come together to save and borrow at low rates. This means we can help people who may be financially excluded or have a low credit rating.

We're covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority, and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulation Authority or Twitter.
