Special Educational Needs Statutory Assessment and Review Team (SENSTART)

What we do?

  • Undertake the Education Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) of children and young people between the ages of birth to 25 years of age who have special education, health and care needs. 
  • Place children and young people (from birth and up to 25 years) with Education, Health and Care Plans in educational provision
  • Review and monitor provision and outcomes set out in a Education, Health and Care Plan.

If you are a parent or carer, school or education setting or a professional making the request on behalf of a child or young person, you can request a needs assessment using the appropriate paperwork available under Requesting an Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA).
