In what circumstances would this equipment be provided?
Enteral feeding. This is when the patient is struggling to have food via the mouth. This may be due to a variety of medical reasons.
The child would be referred to a dietician from either their GP or Consultant. The dietician would then recommend a plan to support your child which may include enteral feeding which is feeding a child via a tube that goes to the stomach.

It gets returned to MPCE if the item is deemed unrepariable. If it is not required, it can go back in to the main CCNS Stock and be used for other patients.
