Tax Help for Older People

An independent free tax advice service for older people on low incomes who cannot afford to pay for professional advice. The charity was established in 2004. We operate across the UK from our Bridport office base in Dorset assisted by a team of regionally based staff and a national network of over 500 tax volunteers.

Our volunteers give their time and expertise free of charge because they recognise how difficult the tax system can be for older people who can’t afford professional advice and they want to use their skills to benefit the community.

We answer simple questions over the telephone. For other problems, we'll arrange a face-to-face meeting with a volunteer adviser. For anyone unable to travel because of disability, we'll arrange a home visit.

Our advice is free, independent and confidential. Advice can be give on any personal tax matter, large or small. If you are worried about tax, please contact us, we are here to help. Tax Help for Older People telephones lines are open to clients every weekday between 9am and 5pm.
