Birmingham Botanical Gardens

The Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a 15 acres botanical gardens situated in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Gardens offer something for everyone. Our four spectacular glasshouses span from tropical rainforest to arid desert climates. A lively birdhouse, wildlife trails and a seasonal butterfly house also sit attractively amongst our fifteen acres of flourishing gardens and foliage.

The gardens are rich with natural heritage as the gates were first opened almost 200 years ago. The landscapes were designed by J. C. Loudon, one of the most successful garden planners of his time.

The lawns, bursting with vibrant plants and flowers, make the perfect backdrop for weddings, corporate events and private parties. The Botanical Gardens team love to share their knowledge with local schools and communities and provide first-hand experience on the miracle of nature. Home to over 7,000 different plants, this stunning haven of calm serenity has existed for nearly two centuries. Its natural beauty acts as a beacon for butterflies, bees and all those who seek a tranquil escape from Birmingham’s urban metropolis.

The tranquil and vast landscaped greenery provides the ideal haven for adults and children alike. It’s hard to believe that it is located just one and a half miles outside Birmingham City Centre.
