Head 4 Health is a PLPFA (Premier League & Professional Footballers Association) funded project with additional funding from City of Wolverhampton Council.
The project aims to improve mental and physical wellbeing in adults over the age of 18.
It is split into eight-week cohorts, where participants attend once a week in addition to weekly Extra Time sessions where individuals can talk in a safe and relaxed environment. At the end of the eight weeks there are sustained sessions that participants can continue to attend with Extra Time sessions and physical activity sessions including walk & talk.
Each session on the cohort consists of an informative workshop alongside some physical activity. The workshops include mental health awareness, signs, symptoms and coping with stress, alcohol awareness and inspirational speakers. Physical activity sessions include badminton, golf, bowling, walking and table tennis.
There are a number of local partner organisations involved including NHS Healthy Minds, Recovery Near You, Wolverhampton Samaritans, Starfish and Service User Involvement Team.
There are both daytime and evening courses available.
