Navjeevan Project (Support at Home)

Navjeevan Project provides a safe and secure environment for South Asian female service users who are affected by Mental Health, to live independently whilst accessing care and support from staff on site. It is managed by Accord Housing.

The housing scheme consists of nine flats of which:

  • Six flats are one bedroom
  • Two flats are two bedroom
  • One flat is adapted for disabled access
  • The is a communal lounge which consists of wash facilities, small kitchen, PC/internet access which is available for all service users
  • There is a communal garden
  • Secured fob access to the building
  • Floating support can be provided to South Asian Men
  • Advice and signposting to other agencies and networks

Navjeevan scheme has successfully supported South Asian women with a range of complex needs who need to step down from the psychiatric hospital and would give future consideration to new applicants being supported. Consideration to applicants stepping down from residential care will also be given. Advice and support is provided on a range of issues including welfare benefits, money, training and employment.

Social care is delivered under Heantun Housing’s regulated CQC services. All service users and applicants being referred would be required to have eligible social care needs entitling them to receive 15 or more hours of care and support per week.
