FAMILY AND INCLUSION

BUDDYING SCHEME
The Buddying Scheme, supported by the City of Wolverhampton Council, is designed to give young people with an additional need support in accessing activities at The Way Youth Zone.
This programme will help young people build confidence, raise self-esteem and make new friends.
A young person would be buddied up with one of our trained and committed youth team and have a fortnightly session based around things they would like to achieve and do within the Youth Zone.
Each young person will develop a personalised action plan with their buddy to make sure they get the best out of their sessions at the Youth Zone.
The young person must have additional needs and be referred by Wolverhampton City Council. If you’re a parent or carer, speak to your council support worker for more information.
The Way is supported by a Young People’s Development Group (YPDG)
The YPDG have been in existence from day one and is currently a young person council. From creating the concept, creating the name of Wolverhampton Youth Zone to helping shape both the exterior and interior designs of the building. The YPDG helped recruit The Way’s first staff members.
The YPDG are made up of a range of young people who use the facility.
