Sensory Disability Service - City of Wolverhampton Council

Around one person in thirty, over two million people in the UK, are living with sight problems.

There are approximately 10 million people (one in six) in the UK with some degree of hearing loss. 6.5 million of these are aged 60 and over. Around 2 million people use hearing aids. The City of Wolverhampton Council’s Sensory Support team are a team consisting of Rehabilitation Officers and a Hearing Technical Officer.

The Sensory Support team is qualified to give advice and guidance on any sensory (sight/hearing) issues that you may have.

You may qualify for an assessment of your sight loss, hearing loss or deafblind needs.  It may help to discuss this with a member of the team. A referral can be made to the Sensory Support team through the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Access Team.
