Members of Parliament (MPs) are usually elected in General Elections, normally held every four or five years. MPs may also be elected in Parliamentary By Elections. Each MP serves in the House of Commons, representing his or her constituency. Members of European Parliament (MEP) are elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament.
